Digital leap leaves paper mail in history: Weasel Software implemented a digital broadcast channel between the Finnish Centre for Pensions and the Insurance Court

Not long ago, all the documents sent between the Finnish Centre for Pensions (ETK) and the Finnish Insurance Court (VaKo) — thousands of pages a year — were printed, packaged and sent by post. This phase of work took a huge amount of time and human resources.

Due to the laborious submission process, unfinished business could not be handled smoothly either. Now, document migration has been upgraded to the digital age: Weasel Software has played a key role in introducing a new integration interface to VAKO that enables electronic document transport between ETK and VAKO.

Document management expertise plays a crucial role

The electronic transmission channel accelerates the transfer of documents from one system to another, reduces manual labor and improves data security. The largest single electronic transmission from ETK to VAKO contained more than 400 documents, or thousands of pages of text.

Weasel Software’s experts, along with the Pension Protection Center’s document management team, were responsible for planning, implementing, and supporting deployment of the broadcast channel. The project received praise from both ETK and VAKO for the smooth progress of the implementation and smooth cooperation.

“Weasel Software’s strong expertise in document management solutions and the ability to understand and implement customer needs were key factors in the success of the project. The deployment was carried out quickly and in a controlled manner, and users were offered support and training in adopting the new operating model,” says Project Manager Tarja Elmgren from the Finnish Centre for Pensions.

The technical solution utilizes e.g. REST interfaces. The user interface implementation uses .NET and Blazor Web UI framework
