A carbon footprint calculation system in AWS cloud and an elegant report for the end-customer

Awareness of carbon footprints and the factors influencing them is becoming increasingly important for companies, as sustainability information is more frequently requested in tenders. Data Farm’s solution enables businesses to leverage their existing data to calculate this information: a monthly accounting report combined with a few key company details generates a calculation of the company’s carbon footprint.

Taking responsibility for code and design

Weasel Software was responsible for designing the software infrastructure, developing adapters compatible with various accounting systems, and visually designing the final report’s layout. The result is a user-friendly service that provides customer companies with a monthly report on how their actions and decisions impact sustainability and their carbon footprint.

The software operates entirely in the AWS cloud, whose elasticity is perfectly suited to its variable usage profile. For an individual customer company, the process is typically activated once a month to retrieve data and generate calculations. As the number of customer companies continues to grow and their calculation times vary, resource usage adapts flexibly as needed.
